Veterans Up and Running

Veterans Up and Running is an organization that helps the homeless Veteran population in Boston, MA. Through team structured runs, it helps the Veterans with motivation, self improvement, and gets them back on a path toward employment.

Veterans Up and Running
is run by a husband and wife team, Shannon and Robyn Varney. They have a love for running and helping out their community. In order to keep Veterans Up and Running going they need grants for scholarships to help with the Veterans’ educational development.

Beth Ashley and Rowland Fellows met in the 1930’s in a vacation spot in Maine. They were only 12 and 13 years old. They became great friends over the years even though Ms. Ashley had a huge crush on Mr. Rowland. She waited for a kiss that never happened. They both lived great lives and had their own families. Limelight Arts

Limelight Arts is a music and performing arts training and community center in Philadelphia. It was started by Frank Machos and is girlfriend Heidi Breuer in 2008. Frank has a masters degree from the University of the Arts and wanted to be able to give back to the community through music and arts.

Right now Limelight holds after school programs for music, acting, and dance lessons. Additionally, after the students learn their music, play or routine, a showcase is performed by the students.

Limelight arts would like to be able to give scholarships to students so that all students have an equal opportunity to study the arts.
