Ugandan Refugee Turns Soap to Hope

Derek, a Ugandan refugee, who now lives in Atlanta has created The Global Soap project. He knows that about 15% of Ugandan children under the age of 5 die due to bacterial diseases which could be avoided just by washing their hands with soap. Derek’s project is to collect all of the used bars of soap from hotels, reformat them and sterilize them, and send them to Uganda. Click here to read more about this hero’s mission.

Woman Buys Everyone Everything
A woman won the lottery and decided to give back, literally. She spent her day at the local Burlington Coat Factory and purchased items for strangers. She didn’t stop there though, when one woman asked for rent money she promptly wrote out a check. One would ask “why would she do such a thing?” the winner states she doesn’t need the money and wants to do this. Three Americans were granted the highest distinction today of the Nobel Prize for medicine. They were granted this honor for their work with chromosomes. Inspired by great climate change leaders, this boy was able to use scraps to change his village’s power using electric windmills. This boys story is truly triumphant, as his family is very poor as well as his village. A Free Musical Haven for Inner-City Talents

John Littlejohn created a summer camp for inner-city kids call Thrive City. Thrive City is a music camp that took place at Towson University at a reduced rate.
